The Narromine Star and narrominestar.com.au are the Narromine Shire's local media outlet. We publish online throughout the week, with stories also appearing in print in Dubbo Photo News which is part of the same locally-owned media group.

The Narromine Star is here to cover your local news, sport, community information, social happenings, and to help connect local businesses with local people with local advertising.

We're proud to say our small team of professional sales, editorial and design people – who live in Narromine, Dubbo and the surrounding region – not only produce the Narromine Star, but our expertise is also called upon to help produce the other newspapers and news websites in our group.

The Narromine Star is owned by small business operators based in our region. Other local newspapers under common ownership are warrenstar.com.au, Gilgandra Weekly, Warren & Nyngan Weekly, Dubbo Photo News and Orange City Life.

The Narromine Star is a member of Country Press NSW which is Australia's longest-running newspaper association, having operated for more than 120 years. Country Press NSW represents the interests of independent local newspapers and news media businesses across NSW, which means none of our members are part of the big corporate news groups which otherwise dominate the Australian media marketplace.

We are also a member of Country Press Australia which represents independent publishers at a federal level.

Both Country Press NSW and Country Press Australia exist to advocate the crucial role each local newspaper and news outlet plays in its local community, ensuring a strong democracy by providing independently researched and written coverage of locally important news and issues.
